Dementia Friendly East Belfast

The Dementia Friendly East Belfast campaign was formally launched at the start of May 2017. The campaign is a collaboration between leading agencies and organisations that seek to support people affected by Dementia.

Dementia Friendly East Belfast aims to make East Belfast a friendlier place for people living with dementia, their family friends and carers, and for older people.

Organisations involved include Dementia NI, Alzheimer’s Society, East Belfast Community Development Agency, Linking Generations, the Belfast Health Trust, Public Health Agency, and many more. Engage with Age co-chairs the campaign along with East Belfast Community Development Agency.

Engage with Age can accept referrals of individual older people aged 50+ who are at risk of loneliness and social isolation, inviting them to participate in group activities. Engage with Age offers one-to-one telephone befriending support for individual older people but does not currently provide in person visits to individual older people. To make a referral please complete the on-line Referral Form and submit or alternatively please print off a copy of the PDF Referral Form and send it to us.
