Dementia


Engage with Age has a range of activities supporting people affected by dementia.

Engage with Age co-chairs the Dementia Friendly East Belfast campaign and is a member of the Dementia Friendly South Belfast campaign.

Initiatives include: designing and delivering award winning in person and online dementia training; producing the monthly What’s On Guide for Dementia Friendly East Belfast; the Festival of Windows large-scale art project; dementia friendly coffee mornings; and dementia friendly telephone befriending for carers of people living with dementia.

Engage with Age currently delivers a Dementia Friendly Artist in Residence programme which has resulted in art training, workshops, and exhibitions of work created by people affected by dementia.

Engage with Age can accept referrals of individual older people aged 50+ who are at risk of loneliness and social isolation, inviting them to participate in group activities. Engage with Age offers one-to-one telephone befriending support for individual older people but does not currently provide in person visits to individual older people. To make a referral please complete the on-line Referral Form and submit or alternatively please print off a copy of the PDF Referral Form and send it to us.
