Groups
Engage with Age delivers health improvement programmes with groups across south and east Belfast. Programmes include physical health initiatives such as walking and exercise, mental health work such as stress awareness and mindfulness, and classes to improve nutrition, and many more. Engage with Age also enables access to other information and opportunities that benefit older people, such as falls prevention workshops, scam awareness, and handyperson schemes.

Through funding from Belfast City Council Engage with Age also offers a capacity building programme with groups that seeks to improve how groups operate. This support is targeted to suit the needs and ability of individual groups. Engage with Age’s support includes training on how to run your group, funding, and ideas for activities. Engage with Age can accept referrals of individual older people aged 50+ who are at risk of loneliness and social isolation, inviting them to participate in group activities. Engage with Age offers one-to-one telephone befriending support for individual older people but does not currently provide in person visits to individual older people. To make a referral please complete the on-line Referral Form and submit or alternatively please print off a copy of the PDF Referral Form and send it to us.
