Support us and Celebrate October Positive Ageing Month!

Posted on: September 8th, 2026

Positive Ageing Month recognises the positive contribution older people make in our community.  We would love to get our supporters on board to celebrate and raise vital funds for Engage with Age by hosting a fundraiser during the month of October.   This could include:

  •  – A coffee morning (see link to our handy guide here).  A coffee morning is a great time to come together enjoy a cuppa and a bun, whilst supporting a local charity making a real difference in the lives of older people across Greater Belfast.
  • – A “Dress Up as Your Favourite Older Person Day” (schools)
  • – Or see our Fundraising Guide (link here) for many other ideas!

An estimated 2 million people over 50 currently experience loneliness in the UK.  Evidence has proven that chronic loneliness accelerates cognitive decline and deteriorates physical health.

Engage with Age works tirelessly to reduce loneliness and isolation across Belfast by providing a range of fun group activities and befriending to thousands of older people each year.  We also empower them to shape matters that affect their lives.

Funds raised will help us ensure we can continue to meet the costs of providing these services in an increasingly constrained and uncertain funding environment.

We can assist with making your fundraiser a success, provide memorabilia and information booklets.  Please feel free to contact us via email at fundraising@engagewithage.org.uk or call us on 02890 735696.

Together we can empower older people across Belfast to lead happy, healthy, independent and more connected lives.

Thankyou🙏
