Belfast East Seniors Forum

The Forum was established in 2003 through a small number of group leaders meeting in cafes to share information with each other.

Our member groups help older people to lead healthy, happy lives and to contribute to community life.

There is a programme of social activities and training for group representatives who attend the Forum.

Membership costs £20 per year to cover overheads. We meet in Dee Street Community Centre on the first Wednesday of every month and all East Belfast Group Leaders are welcome to drop in.

Our meetings are from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Speakers from organisations are also welcomed to book a slot to update our members on current activities or new services.

Currently, representatives from over 30 groups attend the forum.

The Forum is supported by Engage With Age who provides information and development advice.

Engage with Age can accept referrals of individual older people aged 50+ who are at risk of loneliness and social isolation, inviting them to participate in group activities. Engage with Age offers one-to-one telephone befriending support for individual older people but does not currently provide in person visits to individual older people. To make a referral please complete the on-line Referral Form and submit or alternatively please print off a copy of the PDF Referral Form and send it to us. See also the Referral Criteria for details of who can be referred.
